The mission of Miami Pets Alive! is to lead the community of Miami-Dade County toward ending the killing
of adoptable companion animals.
Phoebe and Friends, Inc. was started with the desire to give dogs what dogs want, need, and
deserve...to give dogs a place where they can be themselves... to give them a better life. At
Phoebe and Friends, we are committed to giving dogs the special treatment they deserves...when
you can't.
Non killing shelter. Great dogs and cats for adoption.
Sabbath Memorial Dog Rescue Center Inc. is a non-profit organization under
501C3 status. Located in Miami, we are dedicated to rescuing abused,
neglected, and abandoned dogs from the streets, giving them care and love,
then placing them in with loving families.
S.M.D.R.C. provides medical attention to injured and sick dogs, and educates the
public about responsible pet ownership. Non Killing shelter.
American Human Association is to prevent cruelty, abuse, neglect, and
exploitation of children and animals and to assure that their interests and
well-being are fully, effectively, and humanely guaranteed by an aware and
caring society.
The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) has worked since 1954 to promote the
protection of all animals. With nearly ten million members and constituents, The HSUS is
the nation’s largest and most powerful animal protection organization, working in the
United States and abroad to defend the interests of animals. We celebrate the human-
animal bond, and we fight animal cruelty and abuse in all of its forms.

The ‘Bow Wow “Ow!”’ video helps teach children how to act responsibly and

bites after reviewing these pages.
Animal Services is primarily charged with the responsibility of enforcing Chapter 5 of
the Code of Metropolitan Dade County, as well as Florida Statutes 828 which deals
primarily with animal cruelty issues. Unlike private shelters that have limitations on the
number of pets they accept, we accept all animals, at Animal Services: None are
turned away and each year the shelter impounds more than 32,000 dogs and cats. Our
goal is to find life long homes for as many animals as possible and to provide proper
care for them while they’re at the shelter. (Animal Service it is a killing shelter)
